Work From Home Is Loved Worldwide, Even If Wall Street Hates It

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Jefferies Financial Group Inc. are at the top of the US financial giants aggressively pushing back to in-person work.

There is only one problem. Workers do not want to come back, and not just here but across countries and industries as well.

Stanford University's Nicholas Bloom has been gathering remote work data since the beginning of the pandemic, and here are his findings based on surveys taken in mid-2021 and early 2022 of individuals in 27 countries, slanting towards higher-income employees.

Workers prefer to work from home more frequently than they currently do in many different countries.

Surveys were astonishing, if instructed to report back to work five days a week, one-third of US employees would resign or begin looking for another position. Workers report they are not feeling less productive working from home. In fact, over half of workers are more productive at home than they expected to be.
